Tirupati is a city full of temples with a highly spiritual population visiting them daily. Below are the interesting places and must visit temples that are located within the city limits of Tirupati.

Kapilateertham
Kapilateertham
Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple is located 4kms from Railway Station/Bus Stand and it is also known as Kapila Theertham. Lord Shiva is deity of this temple, it is believed that the idol of Lord Shiva was installed by Kapila Muni and hence Lord Siva here is named as Kapileswara.
Timings: 5 AM to 8 PM



ISKCON Temple

ISKCON temple is one of the must temple to visit in Tirupati. It is located near the foot hills on the way to Tirumala. Deity of this temple is Sri Radha Govinda Mandir, this temple is also know as Hare Krishna temple.

Sri Govindaraja Swamy is one of the prominent temples located at the heart of the city. Sri Govindaraja Swamy is the elder brother of Sri Venkateswara Swamy and believed to have organized marriage between Lord Venkateswara Swamy and Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi.

Sri Kodandaramaswamy Temple is located 4kms from Railway Station/Bus Stand. Deity of this temple is Lord Sri Kodandarama Swamy, his consort Goddess Sita Ammavaru and Lord Lakshmana. It is believed that this temple was constructed when Lord Rama paid a visited Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

Padmavati Temple

Padmavathi Temple is located 5kms from Bus Stand. Deity of this temple is Padmavati Devi, who is the consort of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. This temple is also called Alamelumangapuram or Alivelumangapuram. It is believed that goddess Padmavati appeared on a lotus therefore it is named as Alamelumangapuram.

Chandragiri Fort
Chandragiri Fort
Chandragiri Fort is a historical place located 13kms from Tirupati. This fort was built in the 11th century by the Yadava Naidu kings and was renovated during the rule of Vijayanagara Kings in the 14th century. Raja Mahal palace is an archaeological Museum now.

Srinivasa Mangapuram

Srinivasa Mangapuram is famous for Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swami Temple located at a distance of 12kms from Tirupati. This temple is considered scared, next to tirumala temple. As per Puranas, it is the place where Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy with Goddess Padmavathi Devi stayed for six months, just after their wedding..

SV Zoo Park

This Zoo Park is one of the largest zoo parks in Asia and it is named after Lord Sri Venkateswara. It has many species which are being conserved with good facilities. The main attraction of the zoo is Lion Safari, which is enjoyable and thrilling.

Regional Science Centre in Tirupati is located on the way to Zoo Park from Alipiri. The center has different galleries and often called as science temple because of its exclusive collection. Other attractions include 3D show at the planetarium, Pre Historic Park and Science Park.
